Election 2020, Biden, Afghan Exit, Economy, Confidence!
The Wall Street Journal had excellent coverage on the issues of Biden’s decision to evacuate from Afghanistan and also his continuing plans to manage the exit of American personnel. It now appears that Biden is admitting that mistakes were made in the exit plan. But Biden is now activating some 6,000 troops to help with the exit of Americans from Kabul.
The end date for evacuation is August 31, 2021. This date might be extended to September 11. But the Taliban appear to be cooperating with this Biden plan for America’s exit. It now appears that Iran, Turkey, Russia, China, and Pakistan have basically accepted the transition of Afghan to a Taliban rulership. This means that a new country is being formed under the Taliban rule. America and the West LOST this 20 year war and the lessons will be many.
The big issues going forward are the psychological loss in confidence which has occurred. America is the big loser and the West is now a waning Empire globally. Soon a NEW coalition will emerge and the West will be history for this area of the world. It appears that the NEW coalition will be Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Russia, and China (with others joining over time). Basically the new backers will be dictator nations and Islamic nations.
China may join with the Islamic nations for a season. The interests of China and Russia are in accordance with the interests of Afghanistan. The Western nations will most likely not be part of this NEW coalition of nations. Islam is mostly at war with the West. China and Russia is mostly at war with the West. So this NEW coalition will also be at war with the West. I sense that a NEW era was born this week with the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban.
Confidence is waning rapidly for America and her partners. Political confidence in Biden and his administration is waning fast. Will Biden resign at some point? This is possible. We could witness this change down the road. Will the American economy and our currency (the dollar) suffer as a result of this event over in Afghanistan. My sense is YES. Political confidence is waning and financial confidence is waning. All is happening suddenly and globally.
Our economy will suffer going forward. All the current bubbles could get pricked in the next few weeks/months. As confidence goes so goes the dollar. As the dollar falls so goes the American financial system. All this is a result of our digital interconnections. Our dollar is now a virtual unit and our markets are all electronic and global. All the markets are connected to the internet. Events could happen quickly/suddenly/fast. We live in a speed of light world.
Trends have changed with this Black Swan event over in Afghanistan. America was the BIG loser even as the exit was absolutely necessary. Occupying a foreign land with a different ideology was a lose/lose from the beginning. Islam was the winner (for now). America and her culture was the BIG loser. The West was part of this debacle as all were part of America’s coalition for these 20 years. Big changes are coming in 2021. Thank God for his direction and plan. Nothing happens that is not ordained from ABOVE!
