Lying and its Opposite – where do ‘words’ come from?
Neuroscience wants me to believe that my ‘thoughts’ and ‘ideas’ come from my Brain and from Brain activity (neurons and synapses). Is this a valid argument? Do my ‘words’ and thinking derive from my Brain activity (some location within my physical Brain)? Does my brain control all my behavior and my action? Does this seem reasonable or valid as a statement of reality? What do you think? To me, this sounds ridiculous and not reflective of real-time reality!
Do my ‘words’ and ‘thinking’ (such as lying and exaggeration derive from my Brain or my Mind)?
Yet, the most intelligent scientists on this planet keep foisting the argument that my ‘thoughts’ and ‘words’ derive from my Brain (or an epiphenomenon of my brain). Is this what we experience in REAL-TIME? What do you think? Are some physical quanta within my brain creating my spontaneous behavior as I live my life? Some info on this concept of epiphenomenon from the internet:
Where do my ‘words’, ‘ideas’, and ‘thoughts’ come from?
The physical world operates independently of the mental world in epiphenomenalism; the mental world exists as a derivative parallel world to the physical world, affected by the physical world (and by other epiphenomena in weak epiphenomenalism), but not able to have an effect on the physical world. Instrumentalist versions of epiphenomenalism allow some mental phenomena to cause physical phenomena, when those mental phenomena can be strictly analyzable as summaries of physical phenomena, preserving causality of the physical world to be strictly analyzable by other physical phenomena.
According to epiphenomenalism, free will having an effect on the physical world is an illusion, as physical phenomena can only be caused by other physical phenomena. In weak epiphenomenalism, there is free will to cause some mental effects, allowing for mental discipline that is directed at other mental phenomena.
Weak versions of behaviorism in psychology, which admit for the existence of mental phenomena, but not to their meaningful study as causes of any observable behavior in psychology, view mental phenomena as either epiphenomena, or linguistic summaries, as instrumentalist tools for examination of objectively observable physical behavior in others.
Do our elite politicians derive their ‘words’ and ‘ideas’ from their physical Brain or their non-physical Mind? What do you think? Are our politicians automatons or acting with Free Will?
There are many views within neuroscience and agreement on what is happening is controversial within the science. Yet, there are many who hold the view that my Brain is central to my behavior and thinking and the cause of my actions. Understanding the nature of my/your MIND seems foreign to these intelligent scientists. Why? Read this view of one scientists who reflects the thinking of many:
This expert reflects the thinking of most scientists. Reality is a result of physical forces. But is he aware of his ‘words’ and where they come from? Personally, I don’t think so!
In just over 30 years, humans will be able to upload their entire minds to computers and become digitally immortal – an event called singularity – according to a futurist from Google.
Ray Kurzweil, director of engineering at Google, also claims that the biological parts of our body will be replaced with mechanical parts and this could happen as early as 2100. Kurweil made the claims during his conference speech at the Global Futures 2045 International Congress in New York at the weekend.
Technological singularity, says Kurweil, is the development of ‘superintelligence’ brought about through the use of technology. The first use of the term ‘singularity’ refer to technological minds was by mathematician John von Neumann. Neumann in the mid-1950s.
He said: ‘ever accelerating progress of technology and changes in the mode of human life, which gives the appearance of approaching some essential singularity in the history of the race beyond which human affairs, as we know them, could not continue. The term was then used by science fiction writer Vernor Vinge who believesbrain-computer interfaces are causes of the singularity.
Ray Kurzweil cited von Neumann’s use of the term in a foreword to von Neumann’s classic The Computer and the Brain. Kurzweil predicts the singularity to occur around 2045 while Vinge predicts it will happen before 2030.
What emerges from one’s mouth are ‘words’! Words can fool and deceive as ‘words’ are what we act upon!
P.S. All these intelligent experts obviously have not understood economics or the concepts of economics and money. Economics is based primarily upon mental phenomena and units of consciousness – derived from one’s metaphysical Mind. Examples of ‘words’ with no physical (Brain) origin are the following:
- the ‘words’ money, value, currency, dollar, yen, euro
- the ‘words’ cyber, digital, virtual, bits, bytes
- the ‘words’ love, hate, belief, rule, govern
- the ‘words’ Capitalism, Socialism, Communism
- the ‘words’ singing, playing, acting, performing
- the ‘words’ success, achievement, destiny, desire
- the ‘words’ walking, running, jumping, lifting
- the ‘words’ bartering, exchanging, trading, shorting
- the ‘words’ digital silver, digital gold, paper trading on Comex
- the ‘words’ tick chart, flow chart, technical indicators, index currencies
- the ‘words’ digital currencies, cyber money, cyberspace communication
- the words’ internet, interconnections, networking, globalization
Visible and Invisible, Inner and Outer, Physical and Metaphysical, Matter/Energy and Spirit!
Plato and Socrates espoused the view that we live in TWO realms (levels). One is the world of sights and sounds and the other is the world of the higher intellect. I agree with this philosophy as it reflects real-time experience as I live it!
